Winter Woes

It is storming all over the country today.
Rain clouds are swelling across the sky dripping moisture and melancholy and it’s soaking everything I see.
I feel the inertia in the air,
the world seemingly at a stand still as we wait for the gray and gloomy days to pass.
Everything is so quiet, too quiet.
The task of silencing the inner turmoil is getting harder and harder to bear.
In preparation for what comes next, a collective retreat indoors appears to be everyone’s first instinct.
I mean I see faces on the street but I know that any external exchange is off the table until a sense of safety is promised.
This tone of collective disarray imprints paradox in my spiraling mind.
A mutual isolation
Where everyone feels alone together.
Nature plays with parallel as she matches and amplifies our occasionally gruelingly felt human experience.
